VFS South Florida Chapter LogoLockheed Martin (LM) Advanced Technical Leadership Program (ATLP) Class of 2023 recently organized a community event in partnership with Orlando Science Center (OSC), Vertical Flight Society (VFS) South Florida Chapter and the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 74. On October 15, 2022, members of the South Florida Chapter travelled to Orlando to participate in the Lockheed Martin Aviation Celebration Day at Orlando, Science Center. A total of thirty-Seven volunteers from Lockheed Martin, the VFS and EAA led seven different hands-on activities across four floors of the museum. These activities were designed to give attendees different insights into aviation and engineering concepts. While the events were targeted for youth ranging from 8 to 17 years old, guests of all ages had a blast! Over 1,600 people passed through the three activities that our members provided – a helicopter simulator, “Forces of Flight” F-22 glider build, and the famous “rubber band helicopter” assembly area!
